Society for Humanistic Anthropology invites you to attend our workshops, sessions and meetings for this year’s AAA: Producing Anthropology

SHA Workshops

This year there are ten SHA workshops. To participate, one must be registered for the AAA meeting and on-line registration for a workshop is open until Oct. 31st. Registration at the meeting is also possible until the day before the workshop. On site workshop registration will be located in the lobby of the hotel next to the meeting registration. Register early: workshops will close when the specified enrollment is reached.

The Members Meeting will end with two short enactments by SHA prize winning poets: Nomi Stone will present Enactment of Drone Warfare-Theories of the Sublime, Awe/Terror, and Troubled Representation. Ather Zia will present Enactment of Loss, Haunting and Agency.
SHA AWARD CEREMONY 4-1390 Friday, December 5, 2014 8:30PM-10:30PM
The ceremony will begin with the inauguration of the Edie Turner Lifetime Award to be given to Edie Turner for her lifetime of inspiration to the Society for Humanistic Anthropology. The Victor Turner prizes in ethnographic writing, as well as the Society for Humanistic Anthropology’s Fiction and Poetry prizes will follow.
